About DeepInfer Field Notes: Independent V4.1-Flash Research
DeepInfer Field Notes is an independent, fan-made technical dossier about DeepInfer, DeepSeek's 2026 open-source V4.1-Flash inference framework. It is not an official site, not a review lab, and not a benchmark report.
The goal is simple: help a technical reader understand DeepInfer, DeepSeek's V4.1-Flash inference framework — what it open-sourced, what it did not, and how to read the numbers without turning a launch post into a procurement decision.
What this site is
- Independent. No affiliation with DeepSeek, Huawei, NVIDIA, the DeepInfer project, the medical DeepInfer, the smart-contract DeepInfer, or DeepInfra.
- Fan-made. Written by an independent editor who finds the engineering interesting. Enthusiasm is not the same as endorsement.
- Source-based. Every factual claim is tied to a public source: the official repository, the Q&A, the model card, the technical report, or a named media/community source.
- Static. No feed, no comments, no user accounts, no ads, no affiliate links.
DeepInfer and other marks belong to their owners. This site uses the name for identification and commentary only.
What we did — and did not do
We did:
- Read the official README, deployment Q&A, examples, eval docs, model card, and technical report.
- Read the launch-day coverage and the Hacker News thread.
- Cross-check the numbers that appeared in multiple places, and flag the ones that did not.
- Separate what the release contains from what DeepSeek describes as its production design.
We did not:
- Run DeepInfer.
- Have access to SM100 GPUs or Ascend 950 NPUs.
- Perform an independent benchmark.
- Speak to DeepSeek, Huawei, or NVIDIA.
If a page says “DeepSeek reports” or “reading the chart,” that is exactly what it means. We have not verified the performance numbers on our own hardware, and we do not present this site as a review or a reproduction.
How to read the source labels
| Label | Meaning | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Official | Primary source: repository, README, Q&A, model card, technical report. | “Only V4.1-Flash is supported.” |
| DeepSeek claim | Official statement that cannot be verified externally. | “155 trillion tokens per day.” |
| Secondary | Named media or independent analysis. | “CryptoBriefing reports…” |
| Community | Hacker News, X, GitHub activity; time-sensitive. | “At 11:26 UTC, about 5.4k stars.” |
| Not tested | Our own limitation. | “We did not run DeepInfer.” |
When a number is read from a chart rather than a table, we say “approximately” and explain the axis. When a figure appears only in secondary coverage, we do not promote it to the fact table.
Independence and corrections
This site has no advertising, sponsorship, or affiliate links. No company paid for coverage or reviewed a page before publication. DeepInfer is not affiliated with DeepInfra, the commercial inference provider.
Corrections are handled by updating the page and recording the change in the changelog. Because the underlying sources are public, the audit trail is the source register and the linked primary documents. If a claim cannot be traced, it should be removed.
If the official README or Q&A changes, the pages that depend on it need to change too. The snapshot date at the top of each page is there to make that obligation visible.
Privacy
This is a static site. It does not use cookies for tracking, does not require an account, and does not collect personal information. It uses a privacy-friendly Umami analytics script to count page views in aggregate; Umami is cookie-less by design. The site also loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers; if you prefer to avoid that, block the request or use a font-blocking extension.
No data is sold, shared, or used for advertising.

DeepInfer is interesting precisely because it is not a clean, complete product launch. It is a production engine with a visible boundary. The notes are here to make that boundary easier to see — not to sell you either the hype or the backlash.
